Asphalt Millings

Asphalt millings are recycled asphalt material produced from reclaimed pavement.  When properly installed and compacted, millings can create a firm, darker-colored surface that resembles asphalt.

Advantages:

• reduced dust
• can shed water well
• cost-effective in some markets

Potential drawbacks:

• quality varies heavily
• some millings contain excessive debris or oversized chunks
• improper installation leads to loose surfaces
• can soften in extreme heat
