Compaction
Compaction is one of the most overlooked parts of gravel driveway installation and restoration. Without proper compaction:
- gravel shifts excessively
- potholes form faster
- washboarding develops
- surfaces become loose
- edges break down
- water penetrates deeper into the structure
At IronGrade, material is compacted in controlled lifts whenever necessary to improve density, durability, and long-term performance.
The goal is to create a tighter, more stable surface that handles traffic, weather, and Michigan winters more effectively.
